The waterfront residential care facility of The White Sands of La Jolla was undergoing a series of renovation and remodels to progressively upgrade the living environment, and increase the comfort of their existing facility. The main lounge and activities center was one of the earlier projects to be designed and constructed under the watchful eyes of the owner and residents.

Working with the interior designer, and as project architect with Tucker Sadler & Associates, Mark Silva guided design decisions, provided code analysis, and evaluated constructibility issues. He also participated in the master planning efforts being developed as part of the long range plan for the facility.
